Sarah Polley was born in Ontario, Canada to a show biz family. Her father was an actor and her mother was an actress and also an acting director. Polley got her first acting debut when she was six, in Disney's One Magic Christmas.
Polley had a recurring role in Canadian TV series, Ramona (1987-1988). This role led her to other opportunities, such as Big Town and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. In 1990, she got a lead role in another TV series, The Road to Avonlea, in which she played for five seasons. The series has been a success and made Sarah Polley independently wealthy by the age of 14. In 1991, Polley won a Gemini Award for her role in Lantern Hill.
In 1999, Sarah Polley had her first movie in US market when she played in Go alongside with Katie Holmes, Scott Wolf, Taye Diggs and Breckin Meyer.
Sarah Polley appears on Zack Snyder's horror movie, Dawn of the Dead in 2004.
