Rachel Weisz was born in London, UK to George Weisz, a Jewish- Hungarian inventor and Ruth Weisz, a Jewish-Austrian psychoanalyst.
Weisz, pronounced as Vice, started her career as a model when she was 14 years old. She studied English at Trinity Hall, Cambridge. While there, she formed a theatre company, Talking Tongues, which won the Guardian Award at the Edinsburgh Festival.
Rachel Weisz has been acting for a long time in British films and theatres but she got her career breakthrough when she starred in The Mummy with Brendan Fraser.
