Parminder Kaur Nagra was born in Leicester, United Kingdom. Her parents emigrated from Punjab, India to Great Britain in the 60's. Her middle name, Kaur, means "princess".
Nagra got a career breakthrough when she landed a role in the surprise hit film, "Bend It Like Beckham" alongside with Keira Knightley. Nagra played a role as a teenage English girl whose unexpected talents on the soccer field inspired by her idol, international soccer star David Beckham.
She joined the cast of NBC's popular TV series, "E.R." as Neela Rasgostra, a third year medical student.
In 2004, Nagra stars in Miramax Films' "Ella Enchanted".
