Miley is the daughter of singer/actor Billy Ray Cyrus and Leticia Cyrus. Her birth name is Destiny Hope Cyrus. Billy Ray Cyrus gave her the nickname Smiley because she kept smiling, which later turned into Miley. Miley has written over a hundred songs and some of them have been used on her show, Hannah Montana.
Hannah Montana became a hit series on the Disney Channel in 2006. Miley plays the part of singing pop superstar, Hannah Montana while her real dad plays Hannah's father on the show. Disney released a Hannah Montana clothing collection in late summer 2007. Miley received a number of awards in 2007, such as the Favorite TV Actress for the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, Choice TV Actress: Comedy for the Teen Choice Awards and Choice Summer Artist.
