Michael Vartan was born in France to a French father and an American mother. His parents got divorced when he was only five years old.
Vartan moved to United States at age 18 after deciding against joining French military service.
He studied acting and made his debut in French film, Un homme et deux femmes in 1991. His first big American movie is The Pallbearer with David Schwimmer and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Michael Valtran also appears in Never Been Kissed, The Next Best Thing, It Had to Be You. He also made guest appearance on Ally McBeal and Friends series.
In 2001, Vartan became a regular feature on ABC's Alias alongside Jennifer Garner
