Mariska Hargitay is a daughter of Mickey Hargitay and Jayne Mansfield. Her mother, Jayne, was killed in a car accident while Mariska and her two brothers were in the back seat of the car.
In 1999, Mariska Hargitay got the role of Detective Olivia Benson in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which is a spinoff from Law & Order franchise. SVU series deals with sex crimes related cases.
Mariska had a recurring role in popular medical series, ER as Cynthia Hopper in the series' fourth season.
