Kristin Davis was born in Boulder, Colorado. Kristin's parents divorced when she was a baby, and she was adopted by her stepfather, Keith Davis, after he married her mother, Dorothy Davis in 1968.
Davis moved to Columbia, South Carolina, when her stepfather, who was a psychology professor, transferred to University of South Carolina .
Kristin attended Rutgers University in Rutger, New Jersey.
After she graduated, Kristin moved to New York, where she worked in theater and commercial for some time.
In 1987, Kristin made feature film debut in the low-budget Doom Asylum. She also played recurring roles on on daytime soaps "Another World" (NBC) and "General Hospital" (ABC).
In 1994, she joined cast of "Melrose Place" in recurring role of Brooke Armstrong and became regular in the 1995-96 season.
Davis played the innocent and adorable Charlotte York, a sweet and sensitive counterpart to the more blunt crassness of the program's three other female main characters in HBO series Sex and the City.
