Katherine Heigl is of Irish and German descent. She has two older brothers, Holt and John Heigl; and one older sister, Meg Heigl. Her other brother, Jason, passed away in a car accident.
Heigl started her career as a child model. In 1992 she had her movie debut when she landed a role in "That Night" alongside Juliette Lewis and C. Thomas Howell.
Katherine played the role of Sarah Ryback, Steven Seagal's character's niece in Under Siege 2: Dark Territory.
In 1996, Katherin Heigl landed a lead role in Disney's Wish Upon a Star.
Katherine Heigl was ranked #72 in Stuff magazine's "102 Sexies Women in the World" in 2002. She was also named by FHM as one of the "100 Sexiest Women in the World" in 2005.
