John Travolta was born as one of six children of Salvatore Travolta and Helen Travolta. He studied acting and dancing in a drama school in New York.
At age 18, John Travolta appeared in the opening of New York production of "Grease". After that, John Travolta became a member of "Over Here", a Broadway show.
In 1977, John got a breakthrough in his acting career when he appeared in Saturday Night Fever. His other movie credits include Broken Arrow, Swordfish, Ladder 49 and Be Cool.
