Jet Li was born in Beijing, China. He studied wushu (martial art) at age eight. He won his first gold medal in martial art championship when he was 11 years old.
Jet Li retired from the martial arts at age 17. He started play in several movies, including his first box office, Shaolin Temple.
In 1998, he made first appearance to American audience when he landed a role in Lethal Weapon 4 alongside Mel Gibson.
His other movies including The One, Hero and Romeo must Die.
