Hilary Ann Swank starred in her first play in The Jungle Book as Mowgli when she was only nine years old. Besides regular appearance in local theater and school plays, Hilary was also active in swimming. She was ranked 5th in the state in all-around gymnastics.
Hilary Swank moved to Los Angeles in 1990. She attended South Pasadena High School. In 1992, Hilary appeared in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In 1994, she got her career breakthrough when she landed a role in The Next Karate Kid as Julie Pierce.
Hilary won an Oscar in the Best Actress category for her role in Boys Don't Cry.
