Giada grew up in a big Italian family. Her grandfather is the movie producer, Dino De Laurentiis. De Laurentiis moved to Southern California when she was seven years old. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in social anthropology.
Giada De Laurentiis studied professional cooking at Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, specialized in both cuisine and pastry.
Giada has written several cook books, such as Everyday Italian: 125 Simple and Delicious Recipes and Giada's Family Dinners.
Giada De Laurentiis is married to Todd Thompson, a clothing designer for the Anthropologie company.
