Famke Janssen was born in Amsterdam, Holland. She started her showbiz career as a professional model. In 1984, Janssen moved to New York, United States.
She attended Columbia University where she majored in writing and literature. During her study, she had a chance to study acting with Harold Guskin, a famous Acting Doctor, whose clients including David Suchet, Glenn Close, Bridget Fonda and many more. Jannsen also had studied acting with Roy London in Los Angeles.
In 1992, Famke Janssen made her debut in Fathers & Sons. In 1995, she became the Bond girl in Golden Eye. Her other movies including X-Men, X2, Family of The Year and Hide and Seek.
In 2002, Famke Janssen was ranked #69 in Stuff magazine's "102 Sexiest Women in the World".
