Elizabeth Banks was born Elizabeth Mitchell. She changed her name in order to avoid confusion with another established actress also named Elizabeth Mitchell. Elizabeth graduated in 1998 from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
Her first success came when she landed a brief performance in Spider-Man (2002). She also appeared in Swept Away (2002); Catch Me If You Can (2002); and Seabiscuit (2003). The beautiful Banks has drawn comparisons to Audrey Hepburn.
