Andrea Donna de Matteo was born in Queens, New York. Her father was a furniture manufacturer and mother was a playwright. Drea was raised in Queens by her grandmother and a nanny with her two older brothers, Joe and Darren. She graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
Drea (pronounced as 'Dray') has appeared in many independent films throughout her short career but she got her career breakthrough when she landed a recurring role on The Sopranos as Adriana La Cerva.
Drea's other works on big screen including Swordfish, The Perfect You, Dirty Love, Beacon Hill and West Memphis Three.
