Owen Wilson attended St. Mark's Academy in Dallas, Texas until he was kicked out for being a troublemaker in the tenth grade.
He met his future mentor and friend, Wes Anderson when he attended the University of Texas at Austin. The two Texans wrote a screenplay, Bottle Rocket, which James L. Brooks gave $5 million dollars to make it into a feature film.
He is the brother of Luke Wilson and Andrew Wilson.
