Courteney was a cheerleader, tennis player and swimmer while she was attending Mountain Brook High School.
She attended Mount Vernon College in architecture & interior design program for one year before she decided to pursue modelling career in New York.
She played as Lauren Miller in "Family Ties" with Michael J. Fox.
Her breakthrough came when she landed a role in "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" with Jim Carrey in 1994. It was followed by another success when she was cast as Monica Geller in sitcom "Friends".
In 1996, she starred in Wes Craven's horror movie, Scream.
