Christina Maria Aguilera (or also known as Xtina) grew up in Pittsburgh suburb of Wexford, Pennsylvania. Her father is a US Army sergeant of Ecuadorian descent, and her mother, Shelly Kearns, is an Irish descent.

Aguilera appeared Star Search in 1990, singing Sunday Kind Of Love but she did not win. In 1993, Christina got her career breakthrough when she joined Disney's variety show The New Mickey Mouse Club. Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were also in the same show.

Christina's first single was All I Wanna Do, which was a collaborative effort with Japanese singer, Keizo Nakanishi.

In February 2005, Christina announced her engagement with music executive Jordan Bratman.
