Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont, France and grew up in Montlucon, Central France. Her mother is a teacher and her father is a dental surgeon. Tautou eceived her acting lessons from "Cours Florent".
In 1998, Audrey won the best young actress award in the 9th 'Jeune Comedien de Cinema Festival' in Bezier. A year later, she won a Best New Actress Cesar for her role in Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain, Le, which was very successful and made her very famous. After the movie, Audrey and her sister went on a roadtrip in Indonesia where no one recognized her.
In 2006, she will appear in The Da Vinci Code as Sophie Neveu, alongside Tom Hanks.
